Can I go to web pages on the Internet directly from my E-Book publication?
Yes, you can go to any web page or program on the Internet. The restriction is that the user will need an established alive Internet connection.
If I go to an external page from my E-Book, will it open up in the same E-Book?
The E-Book will display the HTML pages within its own window!
If my publication is large, can compiled E-Books handle large (> 30MB) publications?
Yes, Fast EBook Compiler can compile large publications. However, please remember that having large E-Books slows the interaction on the user's computer.
Can I create my E-Book with an expiration date or protection?
Yes. You have a rich choice! You can set an expiration interval in days or as the number of runs of your E-Book. Much more, you will have an ability to set a registration key on your E-Books. Every time the user would like to see your E-Book content he will have to enter the registration key.
When the created E-Book opens, I want the page to be maximized to a full size of a screen.
Please, use "Full Screen" button on the E-Book toolbar.
What should I do if my publication for Fast EBook Compiler is not in an HTML format?
You can do one of the following. If you do not know HTML, or you wish to quickly create your publication, then you can take a plain text or formatted Word document and convert it into HTML via Microsoft Word's (97 and 2000) "Save as HTML" feature. As soon as it is converted, it will be ready to compile into an E-Book publication.
Do I need any further license to distribute e-books I create? Are there any further royalties to pay?
No. Providing you own a licensed copy of Fast EBook Compiler you are free to distribute the e-books you create with it in any way you wish, without further payment.
What about PlugIns, or ActiveX, are they supported?
The only answer we can give is "maybe". It depends on how the plugin or ActiveX control requests its data. If it goes through the standard protocols to get its data then it may work. If it doesn't then there is no chance it will work. Even then it may be dependent on the way that the end-user has both his system and the Plugin configured. The only advice we can offer is to try it and see. But even if it does work we would suggest you are very thorough in testing it in all the scenarios in which your presentation will be used.
Can I use a CGI/ASP/PHP scripts on my pages?
No, such pages require server-side processing and Fast EBook Compiler doesn't know internally what to do with this stuff. However, you may still have forms on your pages and links to the scripts that are on the Internet, but it would require the user to have an active Internet connection.
Does the full version of Fast EBook Compiler 1.4 have banner ads inside of the compiled ebooks?
No, there are no banner ads in the ebooks, compiled with the full commercial version of Fast EBook Compiler 1.4.
Is there a fastebook logo on the upper right hand of the screen?
The commercial version does not have a Fast EBook Compiler link and logo at the top right corner of the page.
What is the maximum size of an ebook?
It is about 300MB.
